Through this series, I delve into the intricacies of emotional expression by employing the technique of distorted portraiture.I utilize blind drawings that rely exclusively on my memory and intuition to capture the diverse and nuanced facets of the human face. First, I do a blind drawing to articulate an unconventional form. This then becomes the vessel for the desolate human. From there, I fill in shapes relying solely on memory of the human face.This process underscores purposeful marks, regardless of accuracy, and draws attention to unfamiliar or uncomfortable emotions.  Despite the initial nonsensical shapes resulting from blind drawing, they become key centerpoints by unveiling unique emotional expressions. The spontaneous creation of numerous pieces in one session allows for a raw and messy aesthetic. Here, I choose to emphasize the fleeting and intimate moments captured in each portrait. This way, I am prioritizing the communication of emotions over meticulous visual articulation.
